Updated: Jun 13, 2023

Brief description of game logos

Game logos are the icon or text that represent that game and will appear in places like its loading screen or the game box. logos are extremely important as they are what people will recognise your game by, they need to be simple and easily memorable, while still being unique and in a relevant style to the game.

Examples of game logos:

Collectables Research

A collectable is an object that has value to the collector, gained by its association with its franchise and/or rarity.

The less an item is manufactured, the rarer and sought after it becomes, with some people paying extreme amounts of money for things such as simple action figures. As it is often not the content itself that gives it value. Alongside availability, the franchise it is associated with is going to have a massive impact on sales, Anything even remotely related to a franchise as big as Mario will immediately be sought after by many highly obsessed collectors and fans.

This is another reason why finding a target audience for a game or franchise is important so you know how to market products to match the people who would want to buy them.

Creating a good bond between audience and franchise is crucial to having a fanbase who are willer to buy collectables and continue supporting the company's work,

Collectables can even include things such as signatures from famous people, the scarcity of these makes them so sought after due to the perceived value of the celebrity

Kidrobot

While on a business trip to Asia in 2002 Paul Budnitz discovered the market for collectable toys and figures, which he set out to bring into Western culture in America. while importing toys from Japan he began selling them through his website, later he expanded to in-person stores in San Fransisco.

Paul found himself now owning and running a successful collectables market which would only grow more.

Kidrobot now has a team of 25 loyal members who make toys and collectables often inspired by pop culture, themes of art, graffiti, and classic European and Japanese toys.

Over the years they have partnered with some large companies and continue to create fan-loved work for these franchises:

Dunny and Munny

Some of their most iconic work is their Dunny and Munny figures, which are blank figurines intended for people to customise themselves, these were extremely popular among artists and massively helped kidrobot get to where they are today.

Accessories and Apparel

Aside from figurines and toys they also branch out to accessories and apparel, creating clothing merchandise with custom designs,

Their creativity, design choices and variety of items has led to their large online business today which holds a great reputation with the public.

Packaging

Packaging for toys and cosmetics is crucially important, firstly in stores packaging needs to be easily recognisable to the shopper what is inside the box, and also to show off as much about the product as possible to incentivise the customer to purchase it. while also being decorative and interesting, good packaging does not overdo it, having too many words and unnecessary information on the front can hinder the overall appearance and make the product look worse. It's important to have the franchise logo clearly visible and usually a fitting colour scheme to keep that brand in people's heads as its easily memorable
