Mechanics in Super Mario

Walk/run

Marios walking and running is essential to travel thruought the whole leve.

Jump


Jumping allows mario to reach new hieghts traverse more complex levels.

Spin Jump

Makes Marios jump higher and attacks the enemies

Yoshi

Mario can jump on Yoshi's back for faster travel and the ability to eat enemies

Feather Cape

grants Mario the ability to fly for faster travel, this also creates more accessibility for reaching difficult areas

Death

Upon being hit by an enemy or falling off the map (while in his regular form) Mario will die, losing a life and ending the level. Once loosing every live the world will reset.

1-up

gives an extra life to the player

can be obtained by bumping certain blocks, and through kill combos

Mushroom

makes Mario large and able to break certain blocks. It acts as an extra life in levels, when hit, Mario will return to his regular size instead of dying.

Break Blocks

Mario with a mushroom can jump under certain blocks and break them on impact, revealing items, collecting coins, or creating new paths

Checkpoints

Gates or flag poles that let Mario start again from their position upon dying instead of having to restart the entire level.

Sliding

when on a downward diagonal Mario can slide into enemies to destroy them.
